How do I find and order knitting patterns?
Finding the right pattern – by search: You can use the search bar to find a pattern type, age range, brand and/or yarn thickness. For example: ‘child seamless top-down jumper’, or ‘baby raglan cardi 4ply’. Some descriptions mean the same e.g. sweater and jumper, or cardigan, jacket, hoodie – using multiple words in your search can help e.g. cardi jacket hoodie.
You can select from the drop down from the search bar, or press Enter or Search icon to see multiple results. Results will be sorted in order of relevance to the searched words. You can change the sort order from the top of the results page.
Finding the right pattern – by menu / category
You may find it easier to ‘dive down’ through our menu structure to find exactly what you need. The main categories are Patterns by Age/Size (Baby, Child, Women, Men) AND Patterns by Brand. Patterns by Age/Size are then Keep selecting sub-categories to narrow the search to find the most suitable yarn for your project.
Patterns by Age/Size are divided into Baby, Toddler, Child, Teen, Womens, Mens and Family (multi-size). These are divided again by 4ply, 8ply, 10ply, 12ply, 14ply, and bulky/super-bulky yarn. Keep selecting sub-categories to narrow the search to find the most suitable yarn for your project. Patterns may appear in more than one category if they meet more than one age/size and/or yarn ply.
Options to see the pattern in full window size. On a cellphone or tablet Quick View and Choose Options will show the same detail.
Each knitting pattern will have two or more images for you to view. Books will have multiple pages usually showing the front cover, index, designs in the book and their sizes and yarn requirements.

Digital Patterns
We have a small selection of digital patterns available to download after ordering and payment. Our knitting & crochet patterns are all from New Zealand, Australian and UK knitting yarn and pattern designers who currently prefer to provide most of their patterns in ‘hard copy’ to minimise internet misuse and other copyright breaches. You can search for digital patterns by including Digital or PDF in your search terms, or through the Digital Patterns menu category.
